They say true craftsmen have passion.
For me this means being passionate about my family, my work and delivering the absolute best in all I do.
I am passionate about building what I consider masterpieces and then seeing a satisfied client pleased with the finished product. I feel the same whether it’s a letterbox, a brick wall or an outdoor kitchen.
I learned about building from my father. I always remember him tinkering in the back shed, making something. If we kids ever needed anything he would never buy it, he would always try to make it.
I had one of his hammers as a favorite toy when I was a little kid. I remember trying to make my own pair of roller blades when they first came out.
I have always been building things and I want to be the best at what I do. I want to offer the best products, the best finish, the best service.
Now I work with my wife Natasha in our Outdoor Kitchen business. We share a vision and a passion.
We have both been working since we were teenagers.
I went straight from school to work on mine sites as a driller’s offsider. Sweating it in 50deg for 12 hours a day seven days a week confirmed that I was destined for work in the outdoors.
Later I worked in the construction industry, including some time as a brickie’s labourer, learning the trade from a perfectionist.
Tash, meanwhile, was getting valuable experience in retail before moving to Intework, a job agency for people with disabilities. Tash’s work was a real eyeopener that taught us both to have a greater appreciation of all we have together.
We both love to create and have known for a long time that we would create own business.
Outdoor kitchens are a natural fit. They bring together things that give me joy; round walls, good-looking jobs and tell me, who doesn’t love a woodfired pizza? Put that together with the outdoors and construction, and here I am creating outdoor kitchens with passion.
